Sky Watch Civil Air Patrol is a UK wide Charity that offers aerial observation services to Local Authorities, the Emergency Services, other charities and community groups that otherwise may not have access to these capabilities. The UK Civil Air Patrol is entirely voluntary with pilots and observers providing their time and their aircraft free of charge.
Within the UK CAP is divided into 3 Principal Regions:
England & Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
Each Region is run by a Regional Coordinator assisted by volunteer members covering specific admin functions. Crews operate from a number of airfields in each region and are able to provide collaborating support operations between regions/areas/airfields.
One of the three National Regions, England and Wales is further divided into five Areas for liaison with crews and the organisations we assist.
South Eastern (inc London)
Each area is overseen by a Chief Pilot assisted by one or more deputies.
The England and Wales region currently has around 100 registered members
Requests for assistance from Local Authorities, Emergency Services or other charities are routed to the Area Chief Pilots who arrange crews and oversee the safe conduct of the flights..
